Panavidéo Inc. was established in Quebec City in 1957, under the name Lessard Projection, focusing its activities on the rental of projectors and cinematic film for local cinemas and colleges. As new technology was developed, Lessard Projection became involved in the video industry, which marked the beginning of a significant change in direction.
In the late 1970s, Lessard Projection signed an agreement with Panasonic to distribute their products in the Quebec City area. In 1980, Lessard Projection became Panavidéo Inc., and was a major player in the development of closed-circuit television systems and television for producers and broadcasters. At the beginning of 1994, Panavidéo Inc. focused its efforts primarily on CCTV systems, strengthening its position within the security equipment market.
Backed by solid experience in the industry, Panavidéo added a new line of products in 1995, in response to the growing demand for access control systems among its clients. The demand was also increasing in the Montreal area, and Panavidéo officially opened its Ville d'Anjou branch in January of 1999. Many installations of camera surveillance and access control systems now involved digital networks (LAN, WAN, Intranet, Ethernet, etc.). In light of this, Panavidéo decided to add the design and installation of specialized digital networks to its areas of expertise. Today, Panavidéo specializes in these three areas within the electronic security industry, namely camera surveillance, access control and specialized digital networks.
Right from the outset, Panavidéo understood the keys to its success: customer satisfaction, technical expertise and the uncompromising integrity of the entire Company. We now have close to fifty years of experience, but for our team, this is only the beginning.
